Scrap C-grade targets

Isabel Nisbet, the chief executive of Ofqual has called for the scrapping of school targets focused on the achievement of C-grade GCSE passes. She has also criticised the current system of league tables and called them ‘simplistic’. Ms Nisbet said that there was a need for a ‘real debate’ about the expectations of 16-year-olds and how any judgements about their achievements should be made. Read the full report here.
